Im Sommer ist in Kooperation mit dem „internationalen Studentenfestival Greifswald“ u.a. ein urabner Garten enstanden – auf dem Gelände eines Kunst und- Kulturvereins. Die Initiative „Polly Faber“ existiert seit 2011 und leistet einen wesentlichen Beitrag zum kulturellen Leben der Stadt, in Form von Workshops, Ausstellungen, Konzerten etc. Wir sind nun dabei Asylbewerber aus der Region mit in unser „Urban Gardening“ Projekt einzubinden und wollen über den Winter ein Netzwerk schaffen, welches insbesondere den Menschen in dünner besiedelten Regionen (Anklam, Wolgast), einen Anlaufpunkt bietet.“ T
Von der website: „The „UrbanPolly“, a small social garden established in June 2014, can be found in the Fleischervorstadt, Greifswald. It’s a small community garden, that is, it’s a place that anyone can use – it’s a place for gardening with others, to simply relax, or to meet people. We specially invite local imigrants and asylum seekers, to offer them help with intigration and exchange. nobody needs to be a member of any group or association to participate in the „UrbanPolly“. In the garden a variety of vegetables, herbs and flowers are grown. Here the earth can be hoed and watered. Here people can find insects and plants that aren’t so commonly seen in a city´s.
